Your Job

The Product Manager will be the focal point driving commercialization, sales, and product development efforts with broad responsibilities to lead activity across internal and external clients including customers, suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, quality, partners and strategic marketing.

Focus products and markets include advanced fiber optic interconnect products including on card optical cabling, highly dense and novel optical interconnects focusing on fiber to chip interfaces and associated connectivity products.

Molex is expanding its Optical Solutions Business Unit and is looking for a technology-minded person to join our team as a Product Manager. This role will include engagement with vendors, manufacturing partners, eco system players and leading technology clients in early development and commercialization stages of product development requiring pricing and cost analysis along with supporting marketing efforts and driving commercialization of products to market. What You Will Do

  • Develop strategy to capture current market/revenue growth opportunities as well as a 5-10-year strategic vision.
  • Define product roadmaps, functional requirements, documentation and market development opportunities, prioritizing guidance to the development organization.
  • Develop sound points of view on technologies, products, customer, competitors, and convert market trends into actionable product line strategies.
  • Define, execute, and manage pricing strategy, P&L and manufacturing footprint for product portfolios, including development of market pricing for new products in new markets.
  • Responsible for directing product line transactional activities through daily collaboration with support staff, engineering, and the manufacturing facilities.
  • Manage product lifecycle and portfolio management activities.
  • Interact with manufacturing plants to lead cost reduction efforts, capacity planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

Sales & Marketing

  • Lead customer segmentation and value chain activities to identify key decision makers and design opportunities.
  • Drive creation and implementation of data sheets, brochures, web content and marketing collateral within various Molex content management systems.
  • Engage with customers in the development of new products, specifications and technical requirements which are used by the various teams in commercialization activities.
  • Create strategy and inputs to pricing systems for assigned product lines.
  • Track and monitor product and program launches to support build timing and sample requirements.
  • Develop growth and penetration strategies for new customers and markets.
  • Manage the process amongst business development, sales and engineering personnel who are working to solve customer products needs in a dynamic fast moving business environment.
  • Travel to meet with customers, eco-system partners and suppliers to understand needs, capabilities and ultimately design products that meet & exceed requirements.
  • Define and coordinate marketing strategies for trade shows, advertising, thought leadership, and standards working groups.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in product management, engineering, business, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Development.
  • 5+ years of experience in fiber optics or photonic systems and markets with fiber connectivity knowledge.
  • Experience in P&L, cost analysis, pricing.
  • Desire to interface directly with customers, ecosystems and suppliers at multiple levels
  • Demonstrated skills in preparing business plans, product promotion, customer and industry engagement with strong presentation and speaking skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with technical customer engagements.
  • Working in or supporting large multi-functional organizations.
  • Experience with reporting and analysis, PowerBI.
  • B2B business or technical experience.

For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000-$140,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
