IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team!We are currently seeking a Landscape Architecture Graduate - Designer 2 in our Manassas, VA office.As a Landscape Architecture Graduate - Designer 2 you will be responsible for working closely with a team of internal experienced landscape designers and landscape architects, and other IMEG professionals to provide landscape architecture design solutions and prepare various technical deliverables for project work. Primary responsibilities include assisting in design and technical work directed by a senior colleague. In this position, the expectation is to work with the project's budget and collaborate with other land development teams to meet the project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Completes various exhibits, presentation graphics and renderings

  • Completes concept and schematic landscape design

  • Completes landscape and planting plans, and tree preservation plans

  • Completes research, calculations and data entry for associated plans and reports

  • Completes site visits and tree assessments

  • Attends client meetings with senior staff, and helps prepare meeting notes and summaries for clients

  • Works as part of a project team to meet the scheduled deadlines for completing the various project tasks and client deliverables

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp

  • Good graphic skills, and good written and verbal communication skills

  • Regional plant knowledge for application in both planting design and field identification

  • Developing proficiency of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical design plans

  • Attention to detail and developing design problem-solving skills

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges

  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent required

  • 1 year of experience minimum in land development required

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds

  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull

  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
