Symetra has an exciting new opportunity to join us as a Sr. IT Program Manager!

About the role
The Program Manager is accountable for the planning and roadmap of IT's technology projects for a specific Program or IT Department. The Program manager may work with multiple teams accountable for the development and enhancement of a set of Symetra applications that support critical business functions.
What you will do

  • Partner with all levels of the enterprise.
  • Partner with Procurement to negotiate vendor contracts; reviews areas of risk, interfaces with Vendor management.
  • Have deep insight into the stakeholder's business and is able to influence the client's thinking.
  • Make sure that an end-to-end solution is provided in the context of an overall long-term roadmap.
  • Develop a comprehensive solution plan.
  • Articulate to the business and IT stakeholders the merits and risks of the plan.
  • Hold others accountable to drive programs/projects to on-scope, on-time, on budget delivery within established variances. Proactively influence change and manages change with limited friction.
  • Champion change in Business Processes and can think though end user impact of technology projects. Mentor others

Compensation

Salary Range: $125,000 - $208,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years of information systems experience.
  • 6+ years of leadership experience.
  • 8+ years of leading large sized projects, including enterprise wide projects.
  • 8+ years of managing multiple concurrent project assignments.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing complex processes with multiple business owners, making trade-offs against business priorities.
  • Ability to communicate with multiple teams to achieve buy in and immediate action.
  • Excellent cross group collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to lead virtual teams to deliver on product milestones.
  • Ability to prioritize and act on decisions quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to evaluate content in an unbiased fashion and take appropriate actions to drive for results.
  • Strong time-management skills
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Good technical aptitude; ability and passion to understand and adapt to new technologies.
