POSITION SUMMARY:

The Souring Specialist is responsible for identifying and securing the most favorable sources for materials and services to drive cost savings. Reporting to either the Commodity Manager or the Director of Sourcing, this role involves analyzing total cost of ownership, negotiating with suppliers, and managing supplier relationships to ensure quality and compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Conduct cost analysis and negotiate sourcing terms to secure optimal procurement options.
  • Identify and qualify suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, cost, and customer requirements.
  • Support supplier transitions, including re-sourcing efforts and supplier consolidations, while maintaining supply chain continuity.
  • Manage cost-saving initiatives, including negotiations on pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities (MOQs), lot sizes, and lead times.
  • Analyze historical and market pricing trends to identify cost reduction opportunities and address variances.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance using key metrics and maintain supplier scorecards to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to trade regulations, product compliance requirements, and company sourcing policies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, to align sourcing activities with operational and business goals.
  • Compile and analyze sourcing data from business intelligence reports and multiple ERP systems to support decision-making.
  • Ensure sourcing activities align with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with suppliers to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and drive supplier development.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including logistics, production, and finance, to enhance procurement efficiency and support overall supply chain objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of global supply markets and commodity pricing trends.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for supplier and internal stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Pay Starting At: $65,000

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance.
