Work Schedule:

90% FTE, 12-hour shifts, day/night rotation. Weekend and holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay:

  • Additional components of compensation may include:
    • Evening and night shift differential
    • Weekend differential
    • Transport differential
    • On-call pay

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist - Med Flight Peds and Neonatal Transport (RT) to:

  • Join our critical care transport team to care for seriously ill babies or children requiring transportation to more specialized care.
  • Use skills in emergency medical care and life-sustaining equipment, to transport children ranging from neonates to teenagers, by ground and by air - known as Med Flight.
  • Collaborate with the pediatric transport nurse and medical control physician to provide care.
  • Work in the NICU, PICU, Emergency Department or other areas as assigned within the hospital when not on a transport (will receive assignments that allow for immediate release to respond to an assigned transport).
  • Assist in writing or revising transport policies and procedures, education, and competencies.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) Accredited Program for Respiratory Therapy Required

Work Experience

  • 3 years of experience as a staff therapist, including work with neonatal and/or pediatric critical care patients Required
  • Experience working in a patient transport environment Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the state of Wisconsin Upon Hire Required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Certification Upon Hire Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months Required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months Required
  • Trauma Certification (TNCC, TPATC, or ATLS) within 6 months Required
  • Certified Neonatal Pediatric Transport (CNPT) within 18 months Required
  • Perinatal Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner Preferred
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
