Sr Spend Manager

Summary

In this role, you will work independently to provide dedicated service to a client in the primary focus areas of med/surgical, pharmacy, lab, IT, purchased services, and facilities. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team and Spend Management Lead to enhance contract penetration and implement value-driven strategies. You will also identify potential savings within the supply chain while promoting the utilization of supply chain contracts and programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement savings opportunities by submitting contract documents, conducting complex analytics, and collaborating with the team to track results.

  • Support client engagement through onboarding, education, and ongoing utilization of Vizient tools and solutions.

  • Partner with the Spend Management Lead and analysts on Quarterly Business Review (QBR) strategy, presentation development, and follow-up.

  • Manage membership rostering, new client locations, and ensure accurate activity tracking in the CRM system.

  • Increase GPO contract coverage by analyzing client spend, supplier purchases, and driving adoption of new contract opportunities.

  • Document and monitor savings opportunities, including tier optimization, LOC/LOP execution, and expiring contract processes.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and product advisors to vet and present conversion and savings opportunities, including NovaPlus and IMPACT programs.

  • Act as a liaison between Vizient data intake teams and clients to ensure accurate data submission and reporting.

  • Utilize Vizient tools and SMEs to implement cost-saving methods that positively impact client financial outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • Five or more years of relevant business or supply chain experience in the healthcare industry or progressive experience in a healthcare organization is required.

  • Proven ability to manage complex healthcare and hospital client relationships.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience in category management, sourcing, or supply chain management within healthcare strongly preferred.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.) preferred.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
