Job Summary

Summary: The Clinical Scheduler is responsible for patient scheduling functions and performs activities which ensure the effective operations of outpatient dietitians, in addition to assisting the scheduling lead with higher-level duties as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing patient scheduling functions for referrals into outpatient adult and pediatric clinics; to include initial referrals through EPIC and other sources. Scheduling for follow-up visits directly sent from outpatient dietitians.
  • Higher-level work may include assistance with submission of paperwork for outpatient tube feeding requests, clinic closures, responding to questions regarding coverage and financial obligations for visits.
  • Ensuring effective operations of the clinic while enhancing the revenue cycle.
  • Maintaining a positive and professional relationship with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Utilizing the automated scheduling system to efficiently manage appointments.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient care processes.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for departmental operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The Clinical Scheduler must have a high school degree or equivalent and one year of work experience. No specific licensure, certifications, or registrations are required.

  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate activities
  • Analytical ability to constantly evaluate task and personnel status
  • Effectivity communicates
  • Experience with electronic health record system preferred
