Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Developer for our Texas territory. The key objectives for this role is to be regarded as a "trusted advisor" for our Clients - developing long-term relationships and projects. Relationship Account management is the cornerstone for this role with Ameresco Asset Sustainability Group. A keen understanding of capital planning, strategy development, and facility operations will enable the quickest realization of our value proposition. Responsibilities: Sales & Customer Relationship focus:
- Establish and expand network of new prospects in targeted markets; both Public and Private
- Cultivate customer relationships that will translate into being chosen as the successful trusted advisor;
- Maintain customer relationship responsibility and accountability;
- Strategically identify, pre-qualify and connect with C-level decision makers to develop opportunities for infrastructure upgrades, sustainability, and/or financial needs; specifically CFO and (Corporate) Real Estate executives
- Formulate successful strategies to increases sales activities and ensure annual goals are attained;
- Develop and execute advisory and solution-based sales strategies appropriate for the markets served; focused on initial introduction of Asset Planning services coupled with downstream financial solutions (Capital Creation StrategiesTM);
- Successfully develop, organize, strategically position, prepare and deliver winning proposals and presentations related to advisory services and software solutions;
- Assume overall responsibility for the development of preliminary and final proposals/presentations;
- Develop marketing collateral (case studies, references, client quotes, etc.);
- Support User Conferences, Decision Development Roundtables, Workshops.
- Provide relationship management of accounts - working to establish and earn "trusted advisor" status;
- Work with the Ameresco Asset Sustainability Group software development team to create new and expanded software support solutions for clients;
- Continually improve our scope and scale of our offering from advisory, to software to capital creation strategy capabilities and offerings;
- Aid in the research and development functions required for ASG to keep the division at the forefront of the industry and participate in the on-going development of marketing collateral; User conferences, Decision Development Roundtables, workshops and symposiums;
- Maintain diligence with tracking sales information using Ameresco SalesForce;
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years' experience with complex and integrated sales, Asset Management, Software Solution and Consultative Selling, understanding of financial models/structures, understanding of building, asset and infrastructure needs.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Asset (Capital) Management, Capital Planning, Maintenance Management, Energy Management, Experience with development, presenting and managing operating and capital budgets
- Experience with C-Suite level selling, presenting, negotiating
- Understanding of buildings and infrastructure, such as facilities management, condition assessments, engineering, building science, maintenance management, and energy management;
- Demonstrated technical ability combined with the ability to work in a collaborative environment with end-users, clients and other members of the software development and implementation teams;
- Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills;
- Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by State of residence (travel to client sites will be required);
- Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), SaleForce software
