As a Software Quality Assurance Analyst, you will join a team dedicated to advancing university digital transformation using ServiceNow and diverse automation platforms such as Jadu, Perceptive Content, and Automation Anywhere. You will lead and coordinate quality assurance initiatives to ensure platform quality, usability, and reliability throughout the development lifecycle.

In this role, you will manage software testing and user acceptance processes to ensure seamless platform performance and user satisfaction. You will help create clear, actionable technical documentation and contribute to defining platform specifications and capabilities. Your expertise will also assist in achieving operational excellence by supporting the administration and configuration of automation platforms, including responsibilities such as system monitoring and provisioning.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Test Planning, Development and Execution: Collaborate with the platform team to define unit and regression test strategies and test plans for new capabilities, enhancements, and defects in the platform. Develop, maintain, and carry out manual and automated tests to ensure functionality, usability, performance, and security meet defined standards.

  • User Acceptance Testing: Collaborate with process and business partners to plan, execute, coordinate, and conduct user acceptance testing. Validate that the developed capabilities meet the needs and expectations of users from various groups and align with the process requirements.

  • Identify and Manage Defects: Investigate and identify software defects, inconsistencies, and user experience issues. Report defects using tracking systems to enable timely resolution.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, UX designers, and stakeholders. Clearly communicate test results, issues, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize testing processes, tools, and methodologies, including UI/UX testing aspects. Proactively propose and implement improvements that improve the quality, usability, and user experience of the supported platforms.

  • Vendor release monitoring: Collaborate with the platform team to assess platform vendor updates for their effects on platform functions and propose necessary actions.

  • Technical Documentation: Develop internal technical process documentation and support the technical documentation of specifications and delivered platform capabilities.

  • Platform Administration & Configuration: Complete selected platform administration configuration tasks to facilitate monitoring, provisioning, and other platform operational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science

  • At least 5 years of quality assurance development and engineering experience in relevant projects

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Requirements:

  • Successful background check

  • Must be able to travel to on- and off-campus locations as requested; evening and weekend hours may be required. This position will operate on a hybrid work schedule with an in-office presence three days per week at our Pittsburgh, PA campus.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with ServiceNow and some or all of these automation technologies: Jadu, Hyland Perceptive Content and Brainware, Automation Anywhere.

  • Experience with automated testing technologies such as ServiceNow's automated testing framework, Cucumber, and Selenium.
