DATABASE DEVELOPER

***Onsite Developer (Norco, CA) - Full-Time Role***

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior/Mid-Level Database Developer with 2-5 years of experience in database development. This role is ideal for candidates who have foundational experience with OLTP systems and are eager to expand their expertise into database modernization and architectural responsibilities. You will work alongside senior developers to support both operational and modernization initiatives.

Please note this is a full-time position to be onsite in Norco, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain database solutions across various projects
• Support OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) systems while learning advanced database architecture
• Assist in data warehousing and ETL process design and implementation
• Work on database replication and user management tasks
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
• Apply transaction management and ACID principles to ensure data integrity
• Contribute to legacy database upgrades and migrations
• Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues with attention to detail and efficiency

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S Citizen

• Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret clearance

• If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 2 - 5 years of professional experience in database development
• Basic understanding of OLTP systems
• Exposure to data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
• Familiarity with database replication and user management
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database programming (queries, stored procedures, functions)
• Understanding of transaction management and ACID principles
• Willingness to learn and contribute to legacy system modernization
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with one or more database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Exposure to cloud-based database environments (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or similar)
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude toward learning
