Job Description:

IS4S Orlando is looking for an electrical engineer with systems engineering experience who's not only interested in the engineering but who's also interested in hands-on building, testing, and fielding of their designs. IS4S works closely with Air Force, Army, and Navy engineers and scientists to build advanced military systems. IS4S is looking for candidates who are self-starters, teachable, and able to learn new things as they work together with other engineers and program managers to solve challenging technical problems. Job duties will include:

* Interfacing with the IS4S Orlando multi-disciplinary team as well as our military customer as the primary electrical engineer. CONUS travel is a requirement for this position.

* Design, develop, modify, and analyze complex electronic hardware and/or systems. Embedded firmware development and coding abilities desired.

* Work directly with the stores fabrication vendor, the harness vendor, and the automated test system (ATS) vendor throughout the development and test program.

* Experience with Software and Hardware integration lab activities (SIL/HWIL) in support of the IQT/FQT and cybersecurity system testing.

* Perform unit testing of hardware products and develop bread board test systems using the HWIL.

* Support system integration and testing up to and including B-52 flight testing.

* Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into

system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications

* Work with the IS4S Systems support group out of our Fort Walton Beach, FL office to support system engineering tasks to include specification development, requirements tracking, and requirements test and verification activities.

Future roles/responsibilities:

* Develops scopes of work, assumptions and clarifications, and man-hour estimates in response to Requests for Proposals

* Makes recommendations for technology investments and leads proposal efforts to capture these opportunities.

* Prioritize and manage multiple projects to specification and budget requirements

* Leads analysis of customer and system requirements and development of architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products

* Develops architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms

* Performs complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects, and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.

* Defines and conducts critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB (printed circuit board) layout using ECAD tools (Altium preferred)
  • Experience in simulation and analysis of electronic designs.
  • Knowledge of general electronics, digital design, analog control, power distribution, signal integrity, data, and video communications
  • Understanding electrical and software troubleshooting and design corrections/mitigations.
  • Ability to work closely with a small, agile development team
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance


Desired Experience:

  • Experience in software/firmware design and testing
  • Experience in Analog design such as: Motor drivers, power circuits, EMC/EMI noise reduction, motion control methods
  • Experience in DoD weapons development or integration
  • Experience in prototyping and manufacturing
  • Experience with programming languages like Python and C
