Roofing Service Technician ( Union Journeyman Level)

The Roofing Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing various roofing systems while ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. This role involves working independently to diagnose and resolve roofing issues, manage task schedules, and document work using Microsoft or other operating systems. The technician collaborates effectively with team members to coordinate project efforts, meet deadlines, and deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records, communicating findings, and adapting to working at heights or in challenging weather conditions-both independently and as part of a crew.

Experience/Education Requirements:

• 8 years or more of roofing service repair experience, with a specialization in leak detection and troubleshooting across all types of roof systems, including performing appropriate repairs as needed and directed.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must be available for flexible scheduling, including regional travel for project-specific work.
• Strong understanding of commercial and industrial roofing safety procedures, including OSHA requirements.
• Proficient in computer use and capable of navigating company software.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools, reading specifications, taking accurate measurements, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
• Ability to professionally represent the company to both internal and external customers in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
• Must be willing to join the local roofing union.

• Regularly travel to worksites to perform assigned service duties, including leak calls, roof repairs, maintenance, re-roof projects, and other necessary services.
• Conduct service inspections and evaluations.
• Evaluate work approach to ensure compliance with company standards, safety policies, and procedures.
• Maintain awareness of project timelines and scope details.
• Consistently follow all safety guidelines and properly set up safety systems.
• Perform tasks in a productive, professional, and efficient manner.
• Prepare and set up work sites; inspect equipment, structures, and materials.
• Ensure roofing products-including adhesives, caulking, sealants, and coatings-are used as directed.
• Clean up debris from the roof surface and surrounding property.
• Maintain positive working relationships and communicate effectively with clients.
• Assist the Project Manager with general job duties as needed.
• May be required to install, repair, or assist roofing crews with project-specific tasks as needed.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned.
