The Sr. Director of Product Management & Engineering is a Senior Functional Leader responsible for managing the Global Product Management and Engineering organizations across multiple business units (Magnetics, Sensors/Switches, Grid Technology). Reporting directly to the Vice President of Innovation, this role leads day-to-day functional execution while partnering closely with BU Presidents and functional peers to ensure product innovation is tightly embedded in business strategies. The Sr. Director drives strategic product innovation, new product development, and capability building aligned with customer needs and corporate growth goals. This role is accountable for deploying maturity models, standard work, and operational metrics that improve speed, quality, and impact across engineering and product management functions.



What You'll Do



Engineering



  • Lead the global Engineering function across all business units, setting technical direction and enabling high-performance R&D execution.
  • Deploy engineering maturity models to improve process discipline, innovation throughput, and technical problem-solving capability.
  • Align engineering resources with product roadmaps, technology platforms, and customer requirements.
  • Drive global standardization in design processes, design reviews, documentation, and testing methodologies.
  • Partner with BU and functional leaders to manage engineering capacity, capability development, and execution of critical projects.



Product Management



  • Lead the global Product Management organization with responsibility for product lifecycle management, market segmentation, and portfolio planning.
  • Implement standard work for ideation sessions, road mapping, value proposition development, customer VOC, and opportunity assessments.
  • Develop market-facing strategies that drive revenue growth, customer alignment, and competitive differentiation.
  • Oversee stage-gate governance and business case rigor for all new product initiatives.
  • Guide product managers in aligning offerings with strategic priorities and long-range plans, while establishing standard work, defining KPIs, and setting a clear managerial cadence to ensure consistency, accountability, and measurable impact across the portfolio
  • Drive IP strategy execution, including coordinating invention disclosures, patent filings, and trade secret protection aligned to product roadmaps.
  • Chair or co-lead the cross-functional IP Steering Committee, ensuring collaboration with engineering and legal partners to prioritize IP creation and mitigate risk.
  • Monitor competitive IP activity and technology trends to inform proactive innovation and protect market positions.



Leadership & People Management



  • Manage and develop high-performing global teams across engineering and product management.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline through recruitment, performance management, training, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the function.
  • Serve as a key member of the division's leadership team, engaging regularly with BU Presidents and functional peers to align strategy, resources, and execution.
  • Champion cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration to share best practices and scale innovation initiatives.



What You'll Bring



  • 15+ years of experience in engineering, product management, or innovation leadership within industrial or electronic components markets
  • Proven track record in leading global teams, scaling product innovation, and delivering commercially successful NPD projects
  • Strong understanding of functional excellence models, product development processes, and IP management
  • Executive-level collaboration experience across business units and geographies
