We're actively seeking a talented Supervisor, General Accounting to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.

As a Supervisor, General Accounting you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success. Your responsibilities will include the following: perform first-level review on reconciliations, resolve discrepancies in the daily transactional matching as needed, and optimize processes across the enterprise to improve operational efficiencies.

How you'll help move us forward:

Develop and lead staff members in the daily suspense/transactional matching and bank reconciliation processes. Ensure that operational functions (checks, wires, bank reconciliation, suspense reconciliation) are completed timely and accurately. Responsible for tracking daily/weekly status of outstanding items, to include reporting to management items aged over 90 days, and high dollar amounts still outstanding. Assist in the preparation of the aging report for all aged balances for Reconciliation COE management review. Escalate to management any issues with risk of financial exposure and make recommendations to management to mitigate risk.

Manage the governance process for the enterprise reconciliation tool; Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS), to include but not limited to working with various teams across the enterprise to update reconciliation profiles, standardize reconciliation templates and document policies and procedures for the use of ARCS.

  • Interface with Corporate and Divisional Accounting Teams, Treasury, the Tax department and various Operational teams, who sit within the Divisions, responsible for processing and/or recording transactions to the general ledger.

  • Collaborate with the Investment Operations team responsible for the daily transaction matching for the investment custody teams

  • Maintain effective internal controls and report any issues as discovered.

  • Be innovative in leading process improvements

  • Provide audit support to external auditors

The experience you bring:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience in accounting or a related field; or, (5) years professional accounting experience

  • Previous Supervisory experience

  • PeopleSoft, Frontier, ARCS

  • Team player, initiative, ability to take on tasks with minimal guidance, communication

  • Ability to innovate and leverage technology for efficiencies and enhanced analytics

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight time frames

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to collaborate with others to effectively solve problems

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$100,530.00 - $122,870.00
