JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for designing bearing assemblies and components to fit the customer's application. Partners closely with sales department, customers, and vendors to identify key requirements and produce drawings and technical specifications to ensure manufactured product will meet or exceed all requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner closely with customers and stakeholders to develop specifications and designs to meet customer requirements, considering production capabilities and long-term strategies for both the customer and NHBB. Calculate cost analysis, and complete sales and vendor drawings as needed.
  • Provide internal expertise and support regarding all manufacturing, quality, sales, and production control activities involved with successfully delivering product to meet all aspects of the customer's needs.
  • Investigates and analyzes new materials, equipment, and engineering practices. Reviews drawings to assess alternative techniques for production and make recommendations to improve cost and quality.
  • Supports projects by preparing data, drawings, or presentations to communicate information in a professional and organized fashion. Mentors new team members as assigned to improve the overall capabilities of the department.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide Engineering recommendations and share best practices. Maintains an understanding of industry standards and trends to improve processes within primary work area.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations, keeping an organized work area and reporting concerns to leadership or the Safety team.

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficient with computer design systems (Solidworks, CAD) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of bearing design, engineering principals, and ability to work independently to complete projects and assignments.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with team mentality.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with employees at all levels; Ability to interface and build professional and cooperative relationships with the customer and external partners on behalf of NHBB.
  • Creative problem-solver, with the ability to make timely decisions with consideration for both the customer and NHBB's interests.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Design Engineering or closely related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires long periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the industrial facility.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

PAY RANGE: $80,000 - $110,000/year DOE
