SUMMARY
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is a unified command, tasked with the responsibility of preparing for and conducting special operations. To enable USSOCOM to carry out its mission, the command is empowered with certain, unique Title 10 authorities and responsibilities. Among these is the responsibility and authority to develop and acquire Special Operations (SO)-peculiar (SO-p) equipment, material, supplies, and services. These special circumstances allow USSOCOM to develop and field capabilities at a much more rapid pace than conventional forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines).
Performs professional technical and functional assignments in support of legacy, specialized, or state-of-the-art systems requiring in-depth knowledge for which expertise is not readily available. Individuals must possess extensive knowledge and expertise that is recognized in the professional community in the required field. The specific expertise and criticality of skills required will be requested at the TO level or by multiple TOs, as appropriate.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides for complex STE support, advisement, and direction regarding detailed technical and/or
*operational guidance and recommendations to T&E or T&E infrastructure design and implementation efforts. Provides expert consultation during research, design, development, and implementation of strategic projects and complex programs. Relies on extensive experience, education, training, and judgment to plan and accomplish specified goals. Provides and presents technical assistance for applications of advanced theory, principals, concepts, and methods. Evaluates existing systems and/or user needs and makes
* recommendations to improve T&E support and services. May design new products or suggest
* improvements to existing products. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Must be an expert at problem-solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations to senior management.

WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions
* Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

* Medium - 50 lbs. Maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
