A Brief Overview

Serving our westside community, UH Elyria Medical Center offers limited Interventional Radiology services that provide our team with a well-rounded experience in invasive procedures. Angio RNs may function in scrub, circulate, and/or monitoring roles during cases.

Radiology nurses work across all imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, Diagnostic Radiology, and Ultrasound. They care for patients undergoing invasive procedures such as biopsies, drain insertions, lumbar punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and vascular access placements including PICCs and midlines. In addition, Radiology nurses triage and process new procedure orders, collaborate with radiologists to obtain procedural approval, schedule patients, and provide pre-procedure education and preparation over the phone.

Shift/Hours: The department is staffed from 0700-1730. This nurse in this position will work 1 (8) one week and 2 (8's) the next week. They will also take call, typically 1 week every 6-8 weeks. No weekend shifts, but you would take weekend and holiday call on rotation.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
