The Opportunity: Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all inventories. Handles all paperwork and follows all procedures to meet this goal. Verifies all orders received and ensures that the orders are properly accounted for in the company's records. Accounts for all defective or damaged products and follows with appropriate corrective action. Manages and reconciles inventory discrepancies. Avantor is looking for an experienced and proactive Inventory Control Associate to optimize our VWR International Warehouse, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives. This role will be a full-time position based out of our Batavia Distribution Center. You will have the opportunity to be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all inventories while managing and reconciling inventory discrepancies. What we're looking for Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: 1-2 years in inventory control or warehouse Collaboration Tool: SAP preferred Preferred Qualifications Excel experience preferred How you will thrive and create an impact Follows Inventory Control procedures for reconciling inventory issues and adjusts inventory when necessary. Efficient and accurate management of IC procedures. Tracks Inventory Control progress thru system reports and Microsoft Excel. Effectively maneuver in SAP and EWM to research inventory issues, orders, and POs Research open PO lines, works with vendors to reconcile open lines while minimizing losses for Avantor Determines disposition on Quality Notifications (inbound discrepancies) and non-conforming product issues for assigned vendors to resolution (i.e., add to PO, return to vendor, process freight claim, etc.) Produce By-Pass orders as needed to expedite product to customers Adjusts records when there are discrepancies and takes steps to correct and prevent discrepancies while following DOA Guidelines Completes and submits freight claims for damaged inbound product when applicable Assists with maintaining inventory quality and accuracy. Maintains tight security over the inventory, adjustments to inventory, and inventory records. Work effectively with other departments / functions to help fulfil customer orders and resolve issues (i.e., customer service, sales, other warehouse departments). Request stock checks / cycle counts when needed and adjusts inventory as needed. Conducts research to help resolve or locate inventory discrepancies in coordination with the warehouse team, customer service, and associates from other DCs as necessary. Audit returns, when necessary, assist in processes to generate proper documentation to generate a prompt credit transaction. Takes appropriate action on product that is not in saleable condition. Runs and reviews all necessary reports and documentation to facilitate accurate inventory (i.e. BBD/SLED & ME23N). Assists with the annual physical inventory procedures Be aware of and work within monthly cost / budget constraints and get adjustment transaction approvals according to DOA guidelines. Assists Customer Service/Sales phone inquiries as needed regarding inventory questions or problem orders. Performs other duties as assigned.
