  • Base Pay Range:$99,174.40 - $161,720.00 annually, based on experience

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
  1. Interview, select, train, evaluate, and counsel all staff in the Operating Room, Recovery Room, and Same Day Surgery departments.
  2. Instruct and advise staff on changes in policies, procedures, or working standards.
  3. Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures that are consistent with University and MU Health Care policies and procedures.
  4. Assure that all departmental certifications, licensures, and accreditations are maintained on a continual basis.
  5. Represent and participate in appropriate MU Health Care committee activities.
  6. Prepare annual budget and monitor revenue and expenditures during the year.
  7. Develop, implement, and monitor workload standards and productivity reports.
  8. Monitor departmental operations and objectives to ensure the most effective services are being provided.
  9. Monitor billing functions and departmental revenue status.
  10. Develop, delegate, and monitor departmental goals, objectives, and programs and ensure timely completion.Develop and implement quality assurance programs for the department.
  11. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the delivery of quality services.
  12. Confer with physicians and other department managers to resolve operational problems and promote communications and guest relations with patients and the public. Manage the departmental Guest Relations program.
  13. Coordinate equipment purchases and maintenance.
  14. Market clinical services both inside and outside MU Health Care.
  15. Coordinate the activities of Surgery Services within MU Health Care.
  16. Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree for staff hired after 9/3/23.
  • Five (5) years of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  • Two (2) years of managerial or supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two (2)years' experienceworking in a surgical services environment.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
