The Senior Finance Manager, Corporate Functions delivers and enhances financial and accounting solutions that drive execution of strategies and priorities of PPG's corporate functions. This includes designing and implementing processes and procedures that ensure efficient and effective deployment of resources, analyzing critical performance metrics, and interfacing with leadership at all levels to influence desired outcomes.

You will report to the Global Finance Director - Corporate Functions within the Corporate FP&A group. You will have a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days in office. Join our Corporate Finance team!

Key Responsibilities

The role has direct responsibility to oversee financial and accounting requirements of the IT and Digital corporate functions and works closely with functional leadership and related teams to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Responsible for the financial management and tracking of functional spend (opex and capex).

  • Responsible for the annual Plan creation, submission and management/tracking of actual and budget spend

  • Drive visibility, analysis and management of functional costs and spending to appropriate levels of the functions.

  • Lead activities that result in proper and equitable allocation/chargeback of costs to respective areas of the enterprise (SBU, Corporate, regional, etc.).

  • Determine the requirements of tools used to improve the visibility and management of functional spend. Takes necessary steps to implement/maintain said tools.

  • Build strong partnerships with functional owners/stakeholders, including those within PPG that are served by the functions (e.g. SBUs, corporate teams, regional teams, etc.).

  • Create and provide executive level summary reports and presentations to senior leadership where needed.

  • Coordinate accounting activities that result in functional billings and intercompany charges.

  • Collaborate with the functions to prepare ACT requests, providing necessary support for certain requests while leading other requests.

  • You will have two (2) direct reports that serve other corporate functions (Finance, HR, EHS, GBS, Communications and Public Affairs, and Sustainability). These two direct reports may be filled by employees with rotational assignments - supervising the team will require agile management and assignment of responsibilities to maximize talents and abilities.

  • Responsible for Annual Plan coordination with Corporate Strategy and Corporate FP&A groups, and ensures reconciliation of targets with financial system (e.g. HFM) submissions

  • Support preparation of annual functional strategy deliverables, including analysis and materials that consolidate overall corporate function submissions.

  • Monthly and quarterly forecasting cadences and reporting requirements, including reports that highlight cost performance (spend) versus established benchmarks (external and internal, including deviations vs Plan and Prior Year).

  • Other analysis requirements, including transformation driven initiatives (i.e. restructuring, divestitures) and headcount.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business. MBA would be advantageous.

  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in Finance and Accounting, including managerial experience.

  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with senior leadership and all levels of the organization.

  • People management skills that inspire and drive subordinate performance and development objectives.

  • Strong project management and delivery skills.
