Who You Are:

At Versar Global Solutions, we prioritize superior customer service and the reliable operation of our IT systems. We are seeking a qualified entry-level IT Service Desk Technician to support team members with issues related to computer systems, hardware, and software. This role involves assisting customers both remotely and in person, guiding them through system configuration and troubleshooting with efficiency and professionalism. Ideal candidates will be strong problem-solvers with excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic IT environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide fast, effective technical support via Zendesk through email, chat, phone, or in person
  • Walk customers through system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Deliver clear, step-by-step solutions and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Listen attentively to customer concerns and escalate unresolved issues as needed
  • Communicate customer feedback to internal teams to improve service and support
  • Collaborate with desktop support engineers to deliver high-quality service
  • Manage laptop inventory, including shipping, receiving, tracking, and coordinating returns
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across various systems
  • Draft and maintain SOPs and technical documentation to support consistent operations
  • Represent Versar Global Solutions with professionalism and integrity while helping to advance our company's mission

What You'll Bring:

  • An Associate's degree in IT or relevant field AND/OR 1-2 years' relevant experience.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting hardware, Windows OS, and basic networking
  • Ability to consistently follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and organizational protocols to ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Ability to explain technical processes clearly and guide customers through solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Patient, attentive, and customer-focused with a positive, detail-oriented approach
  • Must bring a detail-oriented, high-energy, positive, and exceptional customer service approach to the Service Desk operations.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems
  • Committed to continuous improvement through ongoing learning and skill development
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with the company's drug and alcohol policy.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Preferred qualifications

  • Technically proficient with hands-on experience in IT support roles
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explain technical processes clearly
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service with a patient, attentive approach
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and service delivery
  • Experienced in drafting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Compensation

Expected Hourly Rate: $19 - $22

Versar Global Solutions provides the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Location Requirements

This is a hybrid work environment with some days required in the DC headquarters office.
