Job Description

SUMMARY:

Accuray is seeking a Product Manager for the Helical platform, including both TomoTherapy & Radixact Systems. The Product Manager is responsible for strategic and tactical leadership of the lifecycle of the brand, from new product ideation through commercialization and end of lifecycle. This role reports into the Director, Helical Product Strategy.

REPORTING TO/DEPARTMENT:

Reports to the Director, Helical Product Strategy in the Marketing department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide global upstream/product lifecycle leadership for the Helical platform.
  • Lead commercial input and deliverables related to new product development and lifecycle management, including: Target product profiles, pricing recommendations, development of key claims, marketing strategies, and analysis of project commercial value
  • Bring forward analyses and recommendations to support effective decision-making
  • Collaborate with Research and Development and Engineering to analyze and communicate the impact of decision-making and changes as projects progress in development.
  • Analyze and communicate commercial implications to align forecast expectations with anticipated key claims and estimated demand as projects progress through development milestones
  • Lead implementation, analysis and results/implications reporting of qualitative and quantitative market research to gather customer insight
  • Advocate for the Voice of the Customer in decision making with R&D and Engineering regarding the Product Roadmap and target product profile decision-making
  • Provide downstream/commercial leadership and support for the brand:
    • Launch new products with excellence as measured by sales and adoption
    • Develop effective branding and positioning, and promotional campaigns
    • Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop marketing materials, communications and other promotional deliverables
  • Collaborate with regional marketing and commercial teams to effectively represent their needs in the development of global programs, share programs and execution with them and contribute to customization of programs as needed for regional markets
  • Support Field Sales Excellence: Understand the needs across the global regions and define the right configuration and product fit for the regions/ countries. Be the expert & source of knowledge for the regional marketing & sales team so that regional team can define the right market segmentation, competitive edge & positioning strategy for Helical product line thus expand market share and opportunities.
  • Increase/sustain Customer loyalty over time: Devise a global strategy & campaign for existing customers and installed base so that Accuray continue to retain its installed base and its user base.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with a technical emphasis
  • 5+ years of experience in the medical device and/or radiation oncology industry
  • 5+ years of experience as Product Manager
  • Demonstrated success working as part of a cross-functional product development team to move successful products from concept through launch
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in an environment where priorities and needs may change quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Travel required up to 20%
