As a Senior Enterprise Risk Management Analyst with American Family Insurance, you will oversee risk working towards gaining a strategic view of risk within the Enterprise. You will create a hub of risk information to enhance data-driven early risk detection. You will report insights back to the team and leadership. You will focus on finance, reserving, investments and insurance product.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Risk Management.

Position Compensation Range:

$78,000.00 - $128,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities


  • Proactively identify and analyze risks to our organization using an understanding of the Enterprise's business, operating structure and the insurance industry and adjacent industries.
  • Lead routine risk assessment and monitoring activities primarily for finance, reserving, investments and insurance product areas.
  • Drive collaboration and develop strong working relationships with partners across the enterprise.
  • Support enterprise risk-smart culture through education including risk identification and management.
  • Develop and monitor processes and tools consistent with the enterprise view of risk and risk tolerance goals.
  • Support continuous improvement in analysis processes, data gathering, formal reporting.
  • Establish, improves and maintains enterprise-wide reporting.
  • Participate, and present on cross departmental team efforts.
  • May be requested to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.


Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements


  • Solid knowledge and understanding of risk management methods, standards, processes, governance models, and industry standard risk analysis approaches and ability to apply them.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of finance, insurance, industry trends and adjacencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating group discussions. Skills to influence these discussions are developing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing positive relationships with stakeholders that allow for effective counseling and negotiating.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects to their completion.

  • Knowledge in finance, reserving, investments and insurance products.
