Your Team, Your Impact

As a Principal Hardware Engineer with Marvell, you'll be a member of the Multimarket Business Group. You'll be part of the System Engineering Hardware team responsible for developing silicon validation board (EVB) and customer reference design board (CRB) for products ranging from compute processors, CXL accelerators, NAND controllers as well as custom SoCs. You will lead the board design from concept through silicon validation by collaborating with internal cross-functional teams and external partners.

What You Can Expect

  • Lead board hardware architecture definition including Board Design Requirements and Hardware Design Specification development
  • Develop schematics and supervise/guide PCB layout
  • Work with SI/PI engineers to ensure the board can achieve its target performance
  • Work with package team in package design to ensure BGA ball-map and pin assignment are optimal for PCB routing
  • Lead board hardware bring-up and function verification
  • Develop technical documents such as test plan, board user guide as well as other hardware related documents
  • Support silicon validation, firmware, software teams in issue debugging, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Oversee PCB fabrication and board assembly to ensure on-time delivery

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience

  • 5+ years of experience of designing high-speed & high-density boards. Experience in system level design is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of PCIe, DDR and NAND technologies, I/O interfaces and DC/DC power design.

  • Deep understanding of high-speed design theory, signal integrity and power integrity

  • Strong proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Cadence Allegro is preferred)

  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, I2C protocol analyzer, electronic load, etc

  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills with rich experiences leading root cause analysis and corrective actions

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preffered Qualifications

  • FPGA and Python programming capability

  • Familiarity with Raspberry Pi or comparable embedded development platforms

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

143,200 - 214,500, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
