McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for an Instructional Design Supervisor, Science for our school division. The Instructional Design Supervisor, Science role at McGraw Hill will make a difference for learners and educators across the world. Our team needs a strong leader with new ideas who connects with their team in innovative ways and encourages their team to collaborate and share ideas that will impact the future of education! This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 07/31/2026. What you will be doing:
- Managing a growing group of Instructional Designers, including coaching and growing existing employees as well as selecting and onboarding new hires.
- Working at the project team level in an agile structure, helping to orchestrate the work for several delivery teams.
- Leading the instructional design team as they prototype, design, storyboard, and develop courses and digital curriculum assets (such as eBooks, interactives, simulations, and games) at scale. Oversee internal IDs responsible for managing vendors, writing vendor guidelines, answering questions, and scheduling, where applicable.
- Collaborating within a team of cross-functional peers in product management, academic design (SMEs), visual design, project management, marketing and engineering to define new holistic experiences, print and digital, for science programs at McGraw Hill. Build consensus around new ideas and ways of working.
- Providing leadership and expertise on authoring, including specific authoring tools, the creation of templates, and the authoring processes.
- Providing leadership and expertise on innovative and scalable approaches for build and digital integration in products. Identify efficiencies in processes and templates.
- Proactively identifying problems and risks in content development, identifying solutions to those problems and engaging appropriate stakeholders when risks arise.
- Generating creative solutions by bringing talented people together; works to improve new ideas rather than discouraging them.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to develop team members through feedback and guidance.
- Foster an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
- Stay current with industry trends and market developments; build and maintain external networks.
We're looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Education, or related field required.
- 1+ years of management experience with direct reports
- Broad experience and proficiency in various authoring tools
- Experience working with multiple LMSs
- Experience managing a team that is responsible for the creation of interactive materials, multimedia, and learning games in an educational setting.

The pay range for this position is between $71,300 - $86,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
