Carnegie Mellon University's department ofAthletics is searching for an Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach/Aquatics Assistant. This is an exciting opportunityfor someone whothrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You willcontributeto the department by providing assistance to the head coach with all aspects of the swimming program. This is a full-time, 10-month, recurring academic year position.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Assist head coach with all aspects of the swimming program including on-deck practice and preparation for practice, meet preparation and set up, weight room supervision and assistance, travel and other duties as assigned by the head coach

  • Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes

  • Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing sport programs goals set by head coach

  • Recruitment of potential student athletes via phone, email or personal contact

  • Assist the Aquatics Coordinator/Asst Swim Coach in all aspects of pool management and aquatic activities, teaching in the physical education program, as well as other assigned administrative duties

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

  • 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience required

  • Previous collegiate experience preferred

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check

  • Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)

  • Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)
