Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis and modeling;
  • Watershed and stormwater management design and analysis;
  • Surface water quality and environmental data analysis;
  • Green infrastructure/Low Impact Development Best Management Practice design;
  • Erosion and sediment control design;
  • Clean Water Act/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance;
  • Civil/infrastructure design and site layout;
  • Site visits/field operations oversight;
  • Preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.;
  • Developing written plans and permit applications associated with state and federal programs for industrial stormwater discharges and oil pollution prevention (e.g., Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans);
  • Developing task, project, and client management skills; and
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, ecological, civil engineering, or related discipline. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Appropriate registration or practice area accreditation in your field [e.g., professional engineer (P.E.)], or currently working towards certification.


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a consulting or manufacturing or industrial environment, with a working knowledge of industrial processes, and their impacts to the environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Prior research or professional experience in surface water modeling and/or design. (preferred)
  • Experience with modeling/design tools such as HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or ArcGIS. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
