We are interested in epigenetic chromatin enzymes or transcription factors in complex with their nucleosome targets. (a) Techniques we have developed to co-express complexes in vivo (b) Techniques to reconstitute chromatin complexes in vitro (c) Excellent access to Penn State's Titan Krios and Arctica electron microscopes both equipped with Falcon 4 detectors. The Center for Eukaryotic Gene Regulationis a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment which includes the groups of Drs. Jean-Paul Armache, Lu Bai, Manyu Du, Marina Feric, Scott Lindner, Manuel Llinas, Shaun Mahony, Joe Reese, Scott Showalter and Song Tan, each with research programs targeted at understanding the molecular basis for gene regulation on chromatin templates. Education and Experience A Ph.D. is required by the appointment date. Electron Microscopists, Crystallographers, Molecular Biologists and Biochemists with a Ph.D. are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with cryoelectron microscopy, macromolecular crystallography, chromatin biology or biochemistry is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who have received their Ph.D. degree within the last three years. Applications should be submitted electronically and should include a cover letter describing research experience and interests, curriculum vitae and contact information for three references.
