Definition:

The Agronomy Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Agronomy Department, ensuring smooth communication, accurate record-keeping and efficient coordination of daily activities. This role serves as a central point of contact between the Agronomy team, other departments, vendors, and members.

General Duties:



  • Coordinate daily schedules, meetings, and communication for the Agronomy department, and oversee outgoing mail and shipping operations and services.
  • Helps coordinate the Director's calendar of meetings, appointments, etc.
  • Assists the Director with the preparation of the operational and capital budgets as requested.
  • Prepares account recaps on a weekly and monthly basis, processes purchase orders, invoices and related documents for payment.
  • Manages the golf course agronomy office supply inventory, office equipment and employee uniforms.
  • Maintains accurate records, including labor tracking, equipment use, and water usage assigned by the Director.
  • Maintains records and files for the golf course agronomy operation, including current and accurate position descriptions for all agronomy employees and job applicant database.
  • In charge of maintaining building key control.
  • Payroll information (including regular and overtime hours, sick time, vacation time, etc.) for the entire golf course agronomy staff.
  • Schedule for initial and annual performance evaluations.
  • Maintain current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) posted as required by law.
  • Keep all training requirements current for the department.


Employment standards:



  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background tests.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary work in office administration, office machines and record keeping helpful.
  • Typing skills of 50 wpm and at least two years' experience in office administration or clerical position.
  • Telephone experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database management software, printers, internet, etc.
  • Bookkeeping experience helpful.
  • Excellent organizational ability and sensitivity with confidential information
  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with internal/external public.
  • Must be able to comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English.
  • Must be able to inspect, catalogue and calculate.
  • Must have neat and pleasant overall appearance
  • Must be able to professionally interact with co-workers and have a sense of TEAM.


Physical & Mental Requirements:



  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Constant hand and finger dexterity.
  • Exposure to maintenance equipment; including but not limited to moving parts, heights, noise, airborne debris, vibration and fumes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and environmentally responsible work environment
