As a Quality Engineer III - Onsite in our Middletown, CT, facility, you will be responsible for the management of quality assurance engineering programs on a limited basis working under the general direction of Quality Management with minimum supervision. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Work under the general direction of Quality Management with minimum supervision. Responsible for the management of quality assurance engineering programs on a limited basis. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Develop and implement plans to accomplish program objectives which support schedule and meet contract objectives. Work with blueprints and mil specs in accordance with government or customer contract requirements. Monitor status of master plan and all related department plans and schedules to ensure milestones are accomplished. Identify problems in the program and assure a plan is developed, in coordination with other functional departments for implementing corrective action. Initiate corrective action, if necessary. Recommend manpower requirements to ensure the proper number of resources are being applied for current and expected work and to assure on time delivery of products to the customer. Provide leadership on quality issues concerning both customers and internal programs to assure effective cause, corrective and preventative action. Monitor for continued effectiveness. Provide complex quote support and information based on contractual requirements. Participate in program reviews and product cell meetings. Provide recommendations for improved contractual performance. Serve as liaison between customers and management to ensure customer programmatic requirements, cost and schedules are maintained. Assist in the development and presentation of training programs, as necessary. Follow standard departmental and company procedures, as outlined by management. Maintain appropriate security clearance. Guide and assist lower-level quality engineers. If assigned to Receiving Inspection, will be the technical lead for received-purchased materials. Specifics for the requirements of the position will be provided upon placement of the requisition and position posting. As a Quality Engineer position, the engineer will be able to modify Inspection planning to improve inspection techniques and measurement accuracy. Will have the ability to determine tooling and inspection gaging best suited for the measurements required. Interpretation of drawing requirements, specifications, MIL-SPEC's, material certifications and specific purchase order requirements will be understood and communicated technically to the receiving inspection/Tool and Gage personnel. Will be able to document and provide disposition for incoming product non-conformances, real-time, therefore eliminating the need for formal Material Review Board and Corrective Action Board regular meetings. Candidate will possess necessary skills and understanding of GD&T requirements. Qualifications:
- BS degree in related engineering field.
- Over 7 years of quality assurance experience in Defense/Aerospace.
- Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as quality assurance or quality engineering.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 regulations.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a passion for excellence.
