POSITION SUMMARY
The Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program within the College of Health Professions and Sciences is seeking an instructor of pharmacology on the Philadelphia, PA campus or Suwanee, GA campus. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to educate PA students and cultivate learning through traditional and innovative approaches in lecture based learning.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The pharmacologic concepts course is a 2 credit hour course that is delivered through in person instruction. It is an introductory course that lays the foundation for a series of 4 pharmacology courses that focus more heavily on pharmacotherapeutics. The course is approximately 8 weeks in length beginning at the end of October and concluding at the end of December. Lecture is typically delivered 1-2 times per week. Each lecture is 2 hours in length. There are a total of 8 lectures in the course equating to approximately 2-4 hours of lecture weekly in addition to preparation time and answering student questions. Student assessments consist of 3 computerized, multiple choice exams. A PA faculty member will serve as a course liaison to provide guidance and assistance with administrative aspects of the course.
PHARMACOLOGY FACULTY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a course director for the pharmacology course

Develop learning objectives to guide student learning

Prepare and deliver instruction in traditional lecture based format
*
Participate in the creation and refinement of lecture based exam questions

Evaluate student academic performance
*
Provide academic advisement to PA students
*
Communicate and collaborate with PA faculty in the design, coordination, and implementation of the course
REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of a Master's degree
*
Teaching experience preferred
