As a Customs Specialist within our Transport Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and compliant customs operations for both inbound and outbound shipments. You will act as a key liaison between our company and various external partners such as customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies, managing these relationships with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include leading post-entry audits for customs brokers, advising on improvements and corrective actions, and conducting detailed tariff classification reviews for imported parts. You will monitor regulatory updates and adjust relevant systems and documentation accordingly, ensuring that our trade compliance remains current and effective. Additional duties include management and oversight of Partner Government Agency interactions, supporting Free Trade Agreement processes from qualification to certification, and maintaining internal standard operating procedures. You will support audits, compliance requests, and the ongoing enhancement of trade compliance tools, contributing to organization-wide projects alongside the Transportation and Trade Compliance Managers. Reporting and documentation will also be key components of your role, ensuring accurate record keeping of import/export filings and performance metrics. Your proactive engagement in continuous improvement initiatives and ability to cross-support team members will underpin our commitment to operational excellence and regulatory adherence. You will report directly to the Transportation Manager and be an integral part of the North American Service Center's customs and trade compliance operations, contributing to the organization's success by ensuring global trade activities meet all legal and internal standards.
