Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Summer Associate (Test Engineer) to support the delivery of high-quality software through innovative testing practices and automation. This role is central to enhancing the speed, reliability, and confidence of our software releases. You will contribute to the development and execution of behavior-driven test scenarios using the Cucumber framework with Java, ensuring alignment with both technical specifications and business goals.

As part of a cross-functional Agile team, you will work closely with developers, QA engineers, and DevOps to embed quality into every stage of the development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include designing scalable test solutions, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and supporting continuous testing strategies that enable rapid and stable deployments. Emphasis will be placed on engineering excellence, test maintainability, and proactive defect prevention.

You will also work closely with the product team, participating in structured feedback loops to refine acceptance criteria, validate user stories, and ensure test coverage reflects real-world usage patterns. This collaboration ensures that testing strategies are not only technically sound but also aligned with evolving product goals and user expectations. Your contributions will help drive continuous improvement in both product quality and delivery velocity.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Quality Assurance Analyst to certify system testing complete & ready for production
  • Develop and maintain functional testing scripts and feature files.
  • Assist in building and maintaining test frameworks and tools.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases.
  • Create and edit test cases in accordance with acceptance criteria, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0 AA), and system requirements
  • Analyze test results and identify root causes of failures.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand features and technical implementation.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to testability improvements.
  • Create, modify and/or locate the data and conditions needed to execute test cases
  • Identify areas for improved testing processes
  • Modify, coordinate and schedule input to maintain the test environments
  • Report testing activity including time spent, testing time lost and discrepancies found
  • Ensure clear, concise and effective communication of material
  • May assist with addressing employee inquiries or problem resolution
  • Support performance, security, and integration testing efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in testing complex systems including various platforms
  • Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) is a plus.
  • Knowledge about Accessibility testing and WCAG 2.0
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Effective skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
