Job Summary

Dorman is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to joing our growing organization. As a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for Dorman, you will be responsible for the general repair and maintenance (R&M) of the facility. This includes performing a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance and cleaning; ensures that facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, equipment PMs, general repair and maintenance (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.). In this role you will operate a variety of maintenance and repair tools and equipment as well as associated lift equipment as required.

Primary Duties

  • Coordinate all facilities R&M needs
  • Perform/oversee routine scheduled PM's for all production equipment including lift equipment
  • Coordinates all R&M and PM activities with Manufacturing Engineering (dotted line reporting)
  • Submit recommendations for major R&M to management for approval
  • Oversee capital improvements where appropriate
  • Managethe PM schedule and outsources as needed
  • Provide direction to both internal contributors and outside contractors to ensure work is completed per the approved SOW
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of relevant supplies and equipment
  • Maintain appropriate records of all R&M
  • Supervisethe cleanliness of all offices and common areas (performed by facility custodian)
  • Use of computer and/or handheld devices (tablets, etc.)
  • Operate appropriate company equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissor lift, truck, etc.)
  • Participate in department meetings and projects
  • Work with Supply Chain to manage various suppliers (forklift services, Waste Management, etc.)
  • Manage facilities related expenses in line with budget
  • Maintain neat, clean, and well-organized work area
  • Be on-call as needed to respond to facilities related emergencies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision (self-motivated)
  • Excellent understanding of basic building maintenance processes (tool use, materials, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math ability
  • Ability to provide clear verbal and written instructions
  • Good performance, accuracy, and safety record
  • Willing to work overtime as required
  • Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines
  • Ability to pass the motorized industrial equipment test and obtain license
  • Ability to adapt, accept, and promote changes encouraging a team environment to achieve business goals
  • Physical Requirement: Ability to lift, pack, and stack up to 50 pounds in proper manner
  • Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; bend; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach, push, pull and lift with hands and arms.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 5+ years of previous maintenance and repair experience preferred
  • Previous experience in manufacturing production preferred
