Job Description

Puget Sound Energy has set an aspirational goal of being a Beyond Net Zero Carbon energy company by 2045, in line with our "north star" of being our customers' energy partner of choice. Our first major milestone is 2030, which we'll reach by executing the PSE 2030 strategic plan. We have built this strategy as an input to our broader Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP), which shapes the roadmap for achieving both our 2030 and 2045 clean energy goals.



The Director Transformation Strategy and Enablement acts as both architect and activator, bridging long-term ambition with day-to-day execution of PSE's business strategy. The Director leads four teams to ensure strategy, performance, process and people align to deliver for customers, employees and shareholders:




  • Transformation Strategy Development helps create and maintain disciplined execution of PSE's enterprise strategy through strategic facilitation, industry intelligence, and annual planning that keep organizational objectives on track.
  • Enterprise Performance Management oversees performance visuals, monitors progress against KPIs and targets, establishes standards, and leads projects to achieve enterprise performance success.
  • Process Excellence supports enterprise process optimization, ensuring alignment, consistency, and benefits realization across initiatives.
  • Organizational Change Management increases the speed and agility with which teams adapt to shifting business conditions while inspiring the workforce to lead sustainable change.



Together, these teams reinforce organizational culture by driving visual management standards, performance engagement, and consistent business operating rhythm.

    • The importance of clarity and intentionality in identifying the problems being solved and structuring the right mix of strategic and operational solutions.


  • Ability to:

    • Build and maintain an enterprise-wide transformation playbook that connects long-term goals to near-term priorities, planning cycles, and cultural alignment.
    • Define and operationalize a consistent way of working across departments, ensuring the business operates with focus, discipline, and agility.
    • Lead with ownership and urgency-taking initiative to move work forward, solve complex problems, and drive clarity in ambiguous situations.
    • Act as a strategic integrator and enabler-bringing together people, processes, and insights to catalyze progress and reinforce lasting change.



Job Responsibilities

  • Employee Safety, Development & Team Building:

    • Demonstrates passion for safety by promoting a total safety culture, conducting audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and at-risk behaviors, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and compliance requirements.
    • Sets clear expectations, holds employees accountable for performance and safety goals, oversees training and development, makes effective staffing decisions, and conducts performance reviews and development plans.
    • Provides coaching, feedback, and leadership support while challenging and inspiring employees to build effective teams and achieve business, customer, and safety results.


  • Strategic Planning & Transformation Enablement:

    • Lead the formulation of long-term goals and enterprise transformation strategy in alignment with external dynamics, internal capabilities, and shareholder expectations.
    • Build and operationalize a consistent framework for enterprise strategy execution through annual planning cycles and performance checkpoints.


  • Performance Improvement & Enterprise Management:

    • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide visual management standards that track performance, accelerate insight, and sustain accountability.
    • Collaborate with leaders through the enterprise to shape and drive a consistent rhythm of business operations through standardized operating reviews, KPIs, and executive dashboards.


  • Process Excellence & Operational Enablement:

    • Lead the enterprise process improvement function, focused on optimizing processes and unlocking value across business units.
    • Develop and oversee a Process Center of Excellence, supporting project prioritization, improvement frameworks, and performance coaching.


  • Culture & Change Enablement:

    • Guide enterprise change management strategy and support execution across major programs.
    • Lead a dedicated team focused on organizational change, team engagement, and people-first transformation practices.


  • Utility Leadership:

    • Provide leadership during emergencies, emergency response or other efforts required for business continuity.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams in both leadership and participant roles to develop appropriate solutions for PSE needs.


  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Organizational Development, Operations Management, Systems/Process Engineering or related technical or business discipline or the equivalent in education plus relevant experience.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in the areas of strategy development & execution, process improvement, enterprise performance reporting and change management; including five (5) or more years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in performance improvement, transformation, integrated planning, process improvement and change enablement.
  • Experience guiding organizations through complex transformation journeys by building cross-functional teams, driving innovation, and maintaining compliance while upholding transparency and stakeholder expectations.
  • Understanding of transformation efforts and how they align with evolving operating models to ensure changes are effective, durable, and contribute to the overall health and success of the organization.
  • Ability to build and maintain an enterprise-wide transformation playbook that connects long-term goals to near-time priorities, defines consistent business operations across departments and translates regulatory requirements into internal clarity to ensure alignment with standards, policy and public responsibility.

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in applicable area.
  • Leadership experience in a similar position of responsibility and rapidly changing industry.
  • Proficiency with presentation software applications and excellent presentation skills.

The pay range for this position is$168,000.00-$359,400.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
