Job Description
As a Category Management Analyst, you'll play a strategic role in supporting enterprise-wide category management initiatives. This position partners across Corporate Procurement and business units to drive value through vendor evaluation, relationship management, strategic planning, and contract oversight. You'll help ensure the effectiveness of the category management process by coordinating cross-functional efforts and aligning stakeholders around shared goals.
In this role, you'll bring expertise in sourcing IT goods and services-particularly through Resellers-for Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud, and Software solutions. From concept to contract, you'll ensure business requirements are clearly understood, policies are followed, and negotiations are well-supported. Acting as a liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and legal partners, you'll help shape sourcing strategies that deliver both operational efficiency and strategic impact.
What You'll Do
Provide process guidance to business areas using sourcing governance processes, procedures and artifacts. Assist in the identification of sourcing opportunities, with a focus on key sourcing levers (i.e., cost savings, enhancements in quality, customer service, speed to market, overall value). Provide analytical support for sourcing activities by performing spend analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and process analysis. Drive adherence of bid processes and requests (e.g., RFP, RFI, RFQ). Facilitation of contract negotiations and generation of contract agreements. Apply standardized and rigorous approach to financial analysis related to procurement such as financial modeling for bid analysis, cost saving methodology, lease vs. buy model, and total cost of ownership model development. Provide data analysis and reports for review meetings with key suppliers and senior level stakeholders. Provide market interpretation for future needs and strategic planning. Assist in problem resolution and supplier relationship management for high profile vendor relationships. Collaborate effectively with Corporate Compliance, Legal, Audit and Risk Management, Enterprise Architecture, Vendor Management and other internal stakeholders for compliance activities to ensure regulatory conditions are met.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in areas of Information Technology, Computer Science, or Supply Chain Management 2+ year contract administration, vendor management and/or sourcing experience In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in related field.

Salary Range At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed.
