Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients during both routine visits and life-impacting health decisions. This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and creating an atmosphere of trust and professionalism. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
- Maintain a safe and professional environment
- Confidently conduct forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing
- Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct tube labeling
- Maintain required records and documentation
- Readily explain procedures to patients while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
- Commitment to company policies including dress code, employee health and safety, and guiding principles
- Strong decision-making skills based on established procedures and good judgment
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours, covering multiple locations with minimal notice
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- Demonstrated customer focus, transparency in communication, adaptability to change, and knowledge of business operations
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Work Experience
- Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Two or more years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
- Keyboard/data entry experience required

- Must list home city and commute time to jobsite on resume; rate is based on direct years of experience (overlapping roles do not count twice)
- Candidate must have reliable transportation (bus, Uber, rideshare not accepted)
- Must be available to work all scheduled shifts, be on time, and remain for full shift
- Excessive absenteeism/tardiness will result in termination
- Candidates must live within a 20-25 minute commute to ensure reliable coverage
