At AZ Blue, we have a hybrid workforce strategy, called Workability, that offers flexibility with how and where employees work. Our positions are classified as hybrid, onsite or remote. While the majority of our employees are hybrid, the following classifications drive our current minimum onsite requirements:

  • Hybrid People Leaders: must reside in AZ, required to be onsite at least twice per week

  • Hybrid Individual Contributors: must reside in AZ, unless otherwise cited within this posting, required to be onsite at least once per week

  • Hybrid 2 (Operational Roles such as but not limited to: Customer Service, Claims Processors, and Correspondence positions): must reside in AZ, unless otherwise cited within this posting, required to be onsite at least once per month

  • Onsite: daily onsite requirement based on the essential functions of the job

  • Remote: not held to onsite requirements, however, leadership can request presence onsite for business reasons including but not limited to staff meetings, one-on-ones, training, and team building

This position is hybrid within the state of AZ only.This hybrid work opportunity requires residency, and work to be performed, within the State of Arizona.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

A professional team member of the Chief of Staff (COS) Office to the CEO, working independently and collaboratively with COS colleagues, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and staff across the organization. This role requires a solid executive presence, strategic thinking, and exceptional project management and communication skills. The professional will:

  • Develop and execute compelling internal and external CEO communications.
  • Lead and support cross-functional initiatives that align with organizational strategy.
  • Design and implement workflow automation and process improvements to increase departmental efficiency.
  • Provide analytical insights, including executive-level metric reporting, to inform decision-making.
  • Build collaborative relationships, ensure timely and relevant execution of projects, and assume accountability for quality and accuracy of work.
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience

  • 5 years of experience working directly with senior executives in healthcare or corporate environments.
  • 3 years of experience in executive communications
  • 3 years of experience in project management, organizational metric reporting, workflow automation, process improvement, or public relations.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, communications, journalism, marketing, finance, statistics, or related field.

Preferred Work Experience

  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, with emphasis on insurance, health plan operations, or affordability initiatives.
  • Experience leading large-scale organizational strategic projects that achieved measurable results.
  • 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated success in communications, marketing, project management, public relations, workflow automation, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner across the organization to understand operations, identify opportunities, and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop compelling CEO communications and presentations (internal/external) that are relevant, fact-based, timely, and inspiring.
  • Review, edit, and strengthen communications, presentations, and strategic deliverables.
  • Support execution of Executive Leadership Team meetings and retreats (logistics, agenda, action items, presentations, and follow-ups).
  • Support Board of Directors communications, meetings, and related activities as assigned.
  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional projects with organizational impact, providing oversight, change management guidance, and accountability for results.
  • Analyze organizational data; refine and manage dashboards; present trends, challenges, and opportunities to executives and the Board.
  • Develop content to support CEO thought leadership internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve communication pipelines and executive events.
  • Facilitate design and implementation of workflow automation and process efficiency initiatives.
  • Evaluate use of corporate funds and budgets; identify opportunities for administrative efficiencies.
  • Volunteer with or support community organizations in alignment with BCBSAZ's core values.
  • Meet a 99% error-free standard in deliverables.

  • The position has an onsite expectation of 1 day per week and requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
