Our Driver may be autonomous, but Waymo's finances are steered by experts like you. The Finance and Accounting group manages all aspects of our finances and serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors. Along with managing compilation of our financial statements, looking after our cash and overseeing compliance, we partner closely with the business in overseeing company wide resource allocation, developing cutting edge compensation initiatives and generating detailed financial analyses to drive the business forward. We also develop advanced capital strategies to support the company's short- and long-term future.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Business Controller.

You will:



  • Provide operational oversight and act as the process owner for Accounts Payable, ensuring process excellence, compliance, and strong vendor/stakeholder partnership
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs and transaction trends to identify root causes, resolve issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Serve as SME and key business partner to cross-functional teams, advising on AP processes, system enhancements, and policy adherence.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, standardization, and automation within Accounts Payable operations.
  • Oversee BPO performance and provide guidance on escalations, complex transactions, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain functional documentation, policies, and training materials to support process adoption and compliance.


You have:



  • Operational Oversight & Management: Experience providing oversight to a BPO team, including handling escalations and ensuring compliance.
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME): The ability to serve as a SME and business partner for a specific area (BSE, Business Partner, FDS Lead).
  • Process Improvement: A demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and lead small- to medium-complexity projects from start to finish.
  • Documentation and Training: Experience creating and updating process documentation, self-service materials (like DTPs and SOPs), and end-user training content.


We prefer:



  • Policy Creation and Ownership: While the role involves policy, having previous experience in creating and taking ownership of policies (especially low-to-medium complexity) would be a significant plus.
  • Project Management: Formal experience managing projects of low to medium complexity, including using specific project management methodologies or tools.
  • Functional Metrics & Presentation: The ability to create functional metrics, analyze them, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Playbook Maintenance: Experience with playbook execution and maintenance for a specific legal entity or function.


The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
