Job Overview:

The Coordinator Radiology coordinates the technical activities of the CT section of the Radiology Department . Supervises all CT technologists to ensure accurate completion of exams and post-processing of images. Performs all exams, is proficient in CCTA and post-processing. Provides ongoing training, interviews potential applicants, provides orientation to new employees and the completion of employee evaluations. Responsible for maintaining the necessary supplies and staff scheduling. Supports departmental projects to improve performance and sustains the Quality Assurance program. Develop processes to improve the patient experience, efficient patient flow and implement safety initiatives. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments. Ensure the department is in full compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations, coordinate patient workflow. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Trade/Vocational training in Radiologic Technology
  • NJ State Licensure
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) (CT) required
  • BLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • 5 years general CT experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time
  • Day Shift

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees education of appropriate staff concerning new equipment and protocols. Maintains and encourages certification in CT. Works with RSO on continued ACR Accreditation.
  • Makes recommendations regarding the ongoing performance evaluation of supervised staff and resulting actions (i.e. reward, discipline, discharge, etc.).
  • Addresses all patient, physician, and employee concerns. Relays any equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Checks all orders and prescriptions and consults with Radiologist/Physician regarding necessary exams and consults. Completes all necessary paper work and computer entries as required.
  • Maintains communications within the Radiology Department, Hospital, as well as referring Physicians and Offices.
  • Performs CT procedures, oversees new testing procedures & related protocols and participates in the on-call rotation.
  • Exercises supervisory authority and independent judgment in directing employee labor
  • Maintains necessary supplies, places orders, prepares and maintains CT rooms and assures emergency supplies are available.
