Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is a statewide, nonprofit association serving as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin's children, aged birth to eight. We are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association works to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning for Wisconsin's young children by promoting excellence in early education programs, supporting professionalism in the early childhood workforce, and calling for greater investment in quality early child care. WECA's mission is to meet the professional needs of adults who nurture and teach Wisconsin's young children through a rich continuum of services.

The WECA Food Program is looking for a part-time Tier Specialist to join their team. The WECA Food Program Tier Specialist is responsible for determining the level of reimbursement for each provider on a yearly basis and determining if meals served by providers meet program requirements. Responsible for maintaining records of all current and past participants within United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines.

Living in the state of Wisconsin is required for this position.

Administrative and Early Childhood Education experience is required for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight and direction to determine the level of reimbursement for each provider participating in WECA's Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) on a yearly basis and ensures monthly claims are paid at the correct tier.
  • Monitor and train providers and staff about online programs and procedures; Process online claims with cacfp.net; Maintain provider and child databases.
  • Communicate with providers and staff via phone/email.
  • Develop and update administrative forms, procedures, and educational materials.
  • Order and distribute supplies to area coordinators and providers.
  • Assist the program director in managing day-to-day operations and achieving short- and long-term program goals.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to program participants, ensuring all interactions are handled with kindness and respect.
  • Review, understand, and interpret reports, information, and guidance in the database and from overseeing agencies.

Education & Required Skills:

  • 3 years of administrative experience and early childhood education/experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently, attend to detail-oriented work and multiple tasks, identify needs, contribute to creative solutions, and problem solve.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, and a strong aptitude for data entry and database management.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to travel within the state, (reliable automobile at her/his disposal and valid WI driver's license), attend evening meetings if needed and occasionally travel out-of-state as program representative
  • Experience in child care preferred
