Overview
The Stat Nurse works in conjunction with the Hospitalist and is primarily responsible for ensuring emergency nursing management of exacerbations in patient conditions throughout the hospital. Provides care to patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. Qualifications Certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA) Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Education: College degree: Nursing Work Experience: Critical care nursing 2+ years Responsibilities Performs all essential job functions of Registered Nurse (RN) . Recognizes subtle clinical changes and anticipates problems. Utilizes independent judgment to best meet atypical or complex patient needs. Guides self and others in practice changes for patient care issues. Acts as a role model/resource for others by providing guidance and clarification regarding policy, procedure, documentation, computer system operation and patient care needs. Actively pursues self development and professional growth by keeping abreast of new healthcare technology and practices. Applies new knowledge in the work setting and shares new learning with other employees. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Effectively directs staff in an emergency situation. Guides the healthcare team in collaborative practice.Ensures all policy and procedures are followed. Teach staff the nursing process and standards of practice. Hold staff accountable to practice standards. Identifies needs, develops, conducts and evaluates programs to improve competency of nursing staff. Responds to Code Speed and Code 99 calls Maintains calm atmosphere in critical situations Assists hospital nursing staff in caring for patients with potentially declining status ndash; assessing and providing medical interventions at the direction of an attending physician. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $35.22per hour - $60.58per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
