About the Opportunity: About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Co-op student with a focus on Quality Engineering to join our team. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in an advanced aerospace manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with the Quality Assurance team on inspection, process improvement, and compliance activities, while developing your technical and analytical skills.

This position is ideal for students passionate about precision engineering, quality systems, and continuous improvement within a regulated industry.

Location: Malden, MA

Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop, implement, and refine inspection plans and quality control procedures.
  • Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify part conformance to specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Assist in applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and enhance product and process quality.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support documentation and maintenance of quality records in alignment with AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • Aid in equipment and process qualification/validation efforts.
  • Help drive quality improvement initiatives aligned with Lean and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Learn to interpret technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and specifications to assess compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, and the Kaizen Promotion Office to support quality objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in quality systems, mechanical inspection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical components, dimensional inspection, and tolerancing.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with quality software is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Resilient: Able to handle setbacks with a positive attitude Physical Requirements:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses & Safety Shoes).
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
