Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of CEE, and generally to the Executive Director of CEE, the CEE Analyst is experienced with data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation. The CEE Analyst applies statistical methods and has demonstrated proficiency with statistical packages and tools (such as R, STATA, or SPSS) and database management skills. The CEE Analyst will work both independently and as part of a team, using a variety of data types from different sources to produce analyses (e.g., weighted and unweighted comparisons of populations, and causal models. The CEE Analyst will frequently communicate results for technical and non-technical audiences both in oral and written formats, including the use of data visualizations. The CEE Analyst will work as part of a development team in designing, implementing, and documenting web applications to support faculty and administrators in understanding and analyzing course, program, college, and campus level educational data. - BA/BS in education, statistics or computer science or equivalent experience.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis using statistical and other analytic/visualization software, e.g. SAS,SPSS,Stata, R, Tableau, or similar, data collection approaches, and research/design evaluation.
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis using scripting languages such as Stata, R, or Python and experience with at least one object oriented programming environment, such as Ruby, Javascript, or Python.
- Basic familiarity with SQL/querying databases.
- Demonstrated expertise with Tableau and/or other dashboard software drawing data from SQL or similar database systems.
- Strong written communication skills to produce succinct, clear and logical syntheses of existing research and new research findings, as well as correspondence, presentations, research reports, internal- and client-focused documentation, etc. as well as the ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and before large and small audiences, considering differences in social, cultural, professional and educational backgrounds.
- Organizational and time management skills to coordinate several simultaneous activities in a dynamic work environment with frequent changes of work priorities, scope and schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience compiling statistical information to assist an organization in assessment for the purposes of improving outcomes.
- Knowledge of FERPA, IRB, and other laws applicable to student information
- Knowledge of cyber-safety and computer and network security principles and practices, such as OWASP, as applied to application development.
- Experience with at least one advanced cloud-based infrastructure or platform as a service provider, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
