Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity to support the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission by providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the Commercial Integration Office (CIO), United States Space Forces Space - Combined Joint Force Space Component (S4S-CJFSC) as a SDA Commercial Space Capabilities Integration Advisor on the Sensor Systems Support (S3) contract supporting the United States Space Force and Space Domain Awareness stakeholder community. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the success of the CIO's mission by ensuring a productive and positive atmosphere for commercial space partners who incorporate their capabilities and architecture into established programs, plans, exercises, intelligence functions, and training in support of multiple Combatant Command missions.

Work is performed in the Colorado Springs, CO area with an opportunity to telework at the discretion of the Government.

SDA is foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy and act as force multipliers in times of conflict.

As an SDA Commercial Space Capabilities Integration Advisor, your role is pivotal in providing the program with research and subject matter expertise required to integrate commercial capabilities and technology into operational plans. You will play a supporting role in training, wargaming and exercise events, mission requirements definition and assessment, and associated activities.

The CIO, among other missions, is responsible for operational and technology exchange between Space Operators and commercial satellite owner/operators supporting real-time and near real-time information flow during routine operations and enables rapid, informed response to critical unplanned space events or other activity in and through space to improve SDA.



Responsibilities

An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government. As an SDA Commercial Space Capabilities Integration Advisor, you will be responsible for communicating across functional boundaries supporting commercial integration strategy development, leading commercial integration work groups geared toward information sharing and operational efficacy, and driving continuous process improvement. Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Produce and build processes and methodology for integrating commercial capabilities that merge emerging requirements and strategic planning
  • Facilitate and integrate research and development and associated modeling and simulation into operational planning documentation, exercises, wargames, and training
  • Facilitate the creation of partnership agreements, evaluation of proposals, program planning, and associated activities in support of commercial integration strategy
  • Advise program managers with research to integrate commercial capabilities through a variety of agreements that are used to transfer technology, knowledge, or inventions from commercial organizations into operational activities
  • Connect commercial space organizations with HHQ, Department of Defense and Intelligence Community contacts to develop robust collaboration, integration, knowledge sharing, and multi-faceted partnerships
  • Manage discussions for external and internal working groups on topics pertaining to research and development, modeling and simulation, special operations, contingency planning, and long-range strategy
  • Contribute to strategic development initiatives, including the adoption of project management and operations management practices to optimize the programs' effectiveness
  • Support operational activities as required, ensuring seamless integration between programming and operational functions within the CIO portfolio
  • Prepare and present reports, documents and briefings as required/directed
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction
  • Other duties as required and requested by the Government within the constraints of the S3 contract


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance, agreeable to polygraph

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 5 years of relevant experience, 4 of which are in a similar role supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence organizations

Other:

  • Experience in government acquisitions administration concepts, practices, policies and procedures
  • Combatant Command Headquarters experience in planning and organizing necessary policies, directives, programs, and procedures for the establishment and maintenance of program areas and missions for integration
  • Proficient in creating materials using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and adaptability to other emerging tool suites
  • Proficient in organizing, leading, and assessing cross-organizational working groups to collaborate on commercial integration with multi-functional teams in support of broad military operations
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively and facilitate interactive experiences
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing communication-related challenges
  • Self-motivated individual with a collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance, current polygraph

Education: Bachelor's Degree; Military PME in related field

Experience: 10 years of relevant experience, 5 of which are in a similar role supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence organizations, Risk Mitigation Planning, Policy Implementation or Requirements Analysis

Certifications: DAWIA Acquisition Program Management Level III, PMP, or DAU equivalent

Other Qualifications

  • Experience or certification in project management and/or operations management, with a focus on program optimization and efficiency
  • Experience in USAF/USSF formal acquisition programs with CRADA, contracting and T2 agreements, preferably in space operation
  • Demonstrated expertise in process improvement methodologies and a track record of driving measurable improvements in operational effectiveness
  • Advanced knowledge of military operations or previous experience in military acquisitions or systems integration environment is plus

Additional Information:

Location: Work is performed in Colorado Springs, CO and remote

Travel: Up to 15% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction

On Site: TBD within USSPACECOM facility, Colorado Springs, CO with an opportunity to telework at the discretion of the Government

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
