About This Role
This position will elucidate how plants build, remodel, and store lipids and to apply synthetic biology to engineer oilseed crops for high-value seed oils (food, biofuels, and oleochemicals) and improved stress resilience. The fellow will lead projects at the interface of lipid biochemistry, genetics, and synthetic biology-leveraging multi-omics, metabolic-flux analyses, enzyme biochemistry, transgenics/CRISPR, and studies of stress-induced membrane remodeling.
