Electronics Drafter - Blacksburg, VA

VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, has an immediate opening for an Electronics Drafter. This is a full-time position located in our Blacksburg, VA headquarters. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Electronics Drafter will be a key member within our Quality Department.

Responsibilities will include:

• Work with electrical engineers to create schematics and lay out printed circuit boards (PCBs) for DC-DC converters and EMI filters
• Modify existing PCB designs for product updates/improvements
• Generate 3D models and dimension drawings of electronic components and hardware
• Create assembly drawings and other production documentation
• Communicate with various suppliers to ensure manufacturability of designs

Salary will be discussed with the candidate and is dependent upon knowledge and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Drafting/Technical Drawing or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Basic understanding of PCB manufacturing processes
• Electrical drafting experience (Altium Designer preferred)
• 3D modeling/drafting experience (Solidworks preferred)
