The Manager, Licensed Marketing will support the Licensed Marketing Team in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive growth across New Era's licensed portfolio in North America. This role will focus on three core areas: managing minor league license relationships, serving as the team's product expert, and leading special marketing projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and passionate about sports and product marketing.

Responsibilities

License Management - Minor Leagues

  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for minor licenses including MLS, NHL, MiLB, WNBA, and others
  • Ensure alignment with budget goals by tracking updates and planning accordingly
  • Action and manage all deliverables and requests from league partners
  • Provide support and backfill coverage for major license relationships (NFL, MLB, NBA) as needed

Product Expertise

  • Act as the internal product expert for the Licensed Marketing Team
  • Collaborate with License Managers to understand new product offerings, features, and opportunities
  • Inform and guide the development of internal selling tools and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Brief internal teams and review outputs to ensure product positioning is clear and compelling

Special Projects

  • Lead out-of-cadence and culturally relevant marketing initiatives that elevate brand visibility
  • Manage cross-functional execution of special projects including activations, campaigns, and league moments
  • Partner with internal teams (retail, legal, sponsorship) and external stakeholders to bring projects to life

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of integrated marketing plans across licensed categories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and consumer engagement
  • Monitor and report on marketing performance; recommend optimizations to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong relationship-building skills with external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Passion for sports and understanding of league calendars and cultural moments
  • Experience in integrated marketing across digital, retail, and experiential channels
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solution-focused mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field required
  • Five (5) - Seven (7) years of experience in brand marketing, preferably within sports, lifestyle, or youth culture industries
  • Experience with product marketing and campaign execution across multiple channels

Travel Requirement

  • The location for this position is 100% on-site in Buffalo, NY
  • Up to 20%; domestic and/or global depending on business needs

The salary range for this posted position is $70,000 - $90,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
