Job Title: Director of Marketing

Reports To: SVP, Commercial

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for driving key strategic and tactical product management, market development, and product planning initiatives for the assigned brand(s). Responsible for analyzing market trends including potential opportunities and challenges, generating insights and co-leading the creation of the annual marketing plan based on input from cross-functional teams, external partners, and customers

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Under the guidance of Marketing Leadership, the Director of Marketing has primary responsibility for the strategic and core marketing deliverables for the assigned brand(s)
  • Actively participate and lead appropriate sections in the brand planning process, development of marketing strategies, and the development and implementation of a yearly actionable plan
  • Develop and implement all tactical initiatives consistent with business goals; drive maximization of the impact of marketing initiatives
  • Evaluates effectiveness of strategies and tactics, including development of program success metrics, evaluation criteria, feedback mechanisms and return-on-investment analysis
  • Develops relationships with key external customers (to include Health Care Providers, Channel Partners, and Advocacy Groups) in order to maintain a thorough understanding of current market conditions
  • Continuously work with marketing research and field operations to analyze the competition, customer segments, reimbursement factors, and other market conditions affecting the brand and therapeutic area and direct market research activities that support the brand's strategy & success
  • Work with Managed Care to develop pull-thru programs and ensure all programs deliver the desired objectives in a manner consistent with the overall Kowa yearly objectives
  • Prepare, manage & report brand expenditures on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis for the assigned product budget segment
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical sales experience
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical brand marketing experience
  • BS/BA in science or business required; MBA preferred
  • Must live within easy access to a major airport hub
  • Proven ability to develop clear operational objectives and implement tactical initiatives
  • A combination of solid business and scientific acumen along with presentation skills are required
  • Knowledge of FDA Marketing Compliance and PhRMA Guidelines preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; experience speaking to a wide variety of scientific and commercially oriented individuals is desired
