Position Description: Turner Construction is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Data Lakehouse team. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure to support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting on a scale. You'll work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to enable trusted, high-quality data across the organization.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable ELT data pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Develop and orchestrate data workflows using Databricks as well as converting existing Azure Data Factory pipelines.
- Manage structured and semi-structured data ingestion into our Data Lakehouse platform (Delta Lake architecture).
- Build reusable, tested, and well-documented transformation logic with Databricks.
- Monitor data pipeline health, performance, and integrity; proactively resolve issues and ensure SLA compliance.
- Partner with analytics, engineering, and business teams to deliver well-modeled, production-ready datasets.
- Experience in Databricks view creation, partitioning, and optimization to ensure BI tools such as PowerBI can utilize Data Assets efficiently.
- Collaborate on the governance and documentation of metadata.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and platform evolution in support of enterprise data strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study and minimum of 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Advanced understanding of relational databases, star/snowflake schemas, data engineering best practices, including code versioning, testing and documentation, Agile delivery methodology and sprint management
- Advanced hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Databricks and Unity Catalogs, GitHub, Azure Cloud Tools (e.g., Data Factory, Key Vaults, Entra ID, Subscriptions and Resource Groups, Serverless clusters, monitor and quotas) and programming languages: Python, SQL, R or Scala
- Advanced project management and organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks for self and others, especially in prioritizing continuous improvements and roadmap delivery
- Experience building ELT pipelines within Databricks in a modern data stack.
- Solid understanding of Data Lakehouse concepts, Delta Lake, and columnar storage.
- Experience with data cataloging and governance tools such as Atlan a plus.
- Experience with dbt and modeling best practices a plus.
- Experience working in CI/CD environments with version-controlled code (e.g., Git).
- Domain knowledge in the construction industry or related sectors is a bonus.
